Body widget Support

Learn how Body widget presents its current estimated stress index from qualifying Apple Watch records.

1. Which permissions are needed?
You may allow Apple Health access to heart, respiratory, oxygen, hearing, sleep, activity and body, workout, mindfulness, and environment records. See the Privacy Policy for detailed categories and purposes. You can change or revoke access at any time in Health or your device’s health-data access settings.
2. What is the current estimated stress index?
It is a 0–100 estimated stress index representing relative physiological burden. An HRV-based Initial estimate can be provided from a qualifying fresh HRV record; as qualifying records accumulate, it is personalized to your history. Higher values mean relatively greater burden in those signals; they do not express a probability of mental stress. It is not medical advice, a diagnosis, or a clinically validated performance measure.
3. How is a personal baseline created?
An HRV-based Initial estimate does not require a prior calendar day or paired heart rate. It can use a qualifying fresh SDNN HRV record of at least one minute when an eligible Apple Health record is available and the required quality and context checks pass. Nearby heart rate in sedentary context adds supporting context and gradual personalization when available; missing heart rate is not treated as sedentary. Compatible observations are combined without filling gaps. It is a product estimate, not a validated measure of mental stress. Like-for-like past records from the preceding 35 days gradually personalize the estimate: 1–6 comparable days are early personalization, 7+ days use a personal relative algorithm, and 14+ days indicate sampling coverage. More records improve coverage and personalization; they do not promise greater accuracy.
4. What is shown while Body widget updates?
A current estimate can be withheld when there is no qualifying fresh HRV measurement, when required quality or context checks fail, or when a known confounder is present. Missing nearby heart rate alone does not withhold an HRV-based Initial estimate. A qualifying estimate has a 30-minute physiological-evidence validity period. While the app refreshes, or after that period ends, the last qualified estimate can remain visible as Latest recorded value. That retained value is for reference only: it does not extend the estimate’s validity or add to tension or history. If no qualified estimate has ever been recorded, the data remains unavailable. The app does not continuously read HRV, and background updates are not guaranteed. In the complication, an actual zero is shown as one green ring segment; when there is no qualified estimate to retain, the stress inner ring shows a gray question mark (?).
5. How are context and quality handled?
When nearby heart rate is used, it must have sedentary context. Sleep, recovery after workouts, mindfulness, nearby irregular-rhythm events, and movement can exclude a record. These checks can withhold a new estimate when the available records are not suitable. A prior qualified value can remain visible as Latest recorded value; if none has ever qualified, the data remains unavailable.
6. How do I add a complication?
Choose a Body widget complication from the Watch app on iPhone or while editing a watch face. It provides quick access to the latest available estimate when one is available.
7. How is estimated tension shown?
Automatic estimated tension is available only after at least seven comparable prior days. It is shown in hours and minutes, such as 1 h 0 min, and counts only supported observed intervals with paired signals and manual entries; it does not fill gaps. It is not a measurement of continuous or total stress duration.
8. Where is my data, and how do I control it?
Baselines, estimates, trends, timelines, and check-ins are stored locally in the app group on your device. Original Apple Health records remain controlled in Apple Health; deleting local app data does not delete those original records.
9. What about price and refunds?
Body widget is preparing to launch as a one-time US$4.99 paid app. Final regional pricing and purchase or refund handling are shown by the Apple App Store. Preparing for release on the App Store.
